I recently photographed the wedding of Seth and Jennifer at The Floridian Palace in Tampa. Well, the weren’t married there but that’s where the party was. The Floridian Palace is one of those great hotels that has been around forever so you get this great sense of history and culture whenever you are there. The elevator is old, there’s a Mail Chute in the wall, the bar is solid wood and weighs 18 tons… that sort of old-world experience. I love that feeling.

We delivered 444 images from the day and here are a few of my favorite moments:

One of the problems you encounter sometimes is that it starts to get a little warm inside a hotel room with a dozen women working blowdryers and curling irons. Jennifer would hang out in the hall to cool off…

Mom watches over everything..

The Floridian Palace Wedding

They rented a big party bus to take the wedding party to the church. A BIG bus. Best part: Listening to someone try to explain to the ring-bearer what the stripper pole was for…

Jennifer originally suggested we go someplace else for some pictures after the ceremony when I remembered the great Tampa mural downtown. As luck would have it, it is about 2 blocks from the Floridian Palace so it fit into the timeline easily and Jennifer loved the idea.

This is actually the roof of the hotel

There’s a story here. It’s become a tradition in Jennifer’s family to have a picture of the couple with the bride in a chair and the groom standing. So, naturally we had to recreate it.
