As you can well imagine, 2020 has been a very interesting year for Booray Perry Photography. I have a full service photography studio which means that I do every sort of photography you can imagine but a lot of my photography is events: weddings, bar mitzvahs, conventions. Florida was a hotspot early in the pandemic and all of my events were forced to eventually cancel.

It’s been really inspiring to watch so many of my clients find alternative ways to celebrate. I’ve photographed a Bat Mitzvah in someone’s home, socially distanced school portraits and recently a pandemic wedding.

Michael and Victoria booked me last year to photograph their entire wedding day but when it became apparent that they weren’t going to be able to have the sort of wedding that they had always wished for they didn’t let that stop them from celebrating their love and enjoying a special day. And audience of 150 people became an audience of “immediate family only.” I think there were nine people in the church. Everyone else watched online. Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church is a beautiful venue.

I delivered over 350 images from the day and these are a few of my favorites..

After the ceremony we were able to do the traditional formal group pictures as well as romantic pictures with Michael and Victoria. Michael’s dad even brought one of his classic cars which I loved.

Next year they’ll have a formal reception with all of their family and friends in a big hall (and I’ll be there to photograph that, too) but this year it was just immediate family in their home for an intimate dinner. I absolutely loved that Victoria put as much work into her place settings and her table as any wedding venue I have ever worked at. Their first dance was held in the kitchen but I can honestly say that I never felt more love at a reception than I did at this one.

I have a photographed over 500 weddings in my career and every size and shape imaginable but none of them have been more special than this one. It was an honor.
