I love a country wedding. I really do.

Living in Florida means that we have great weather most of the year. Oh sure, there are a couple of chilly months and a couple of months where stepping outside will melt your face off like the Nazi in “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” but that leaves 8 glorious months where your wedding can be inside or out. One of the most popular wedding themes around right now is “Bohemian” or “Country.” Honestly, I think the only difference between the two is that you wear boots at one and not the other.

Cross Creek Ranch in Dover is one of the best places to get married. They have extensive grounds and so many options for the ceremony. Do you want to get married in a chapel? Under a big oak tree? They have it all and the staff there is always on the ball. When you have photographed as many weddings as I have, you recognize immediately when you are dealing with true professionals and working at Cross Creek Ranch is just a joy.

Justin and Kristina booked me about a year ago for their wedding. We did a great engagement session about 6 months ago. One of the cool things that they do at Cross Creek Ranch is that they have a little area where they display photos of the couple and their family. It was nice to see some of my images on the wall:

The day was perfect. Not too hot, good sun all day and everyone in a great mood. You could smell the honeysuckle in the air by the bride’s cabin, which always makes me remember being a kid. It was just a great wedding start to finish.

Here’s a few of my favorite images from the day:
