St. Petersburg Beach Wedding
I love black and white photography. I actually have a whole website devoted to my attempts to re-create the days of black and white film when you would only take a few pictures of an event so they had to count (Here’s the website if you are interested). Also, black and white just changes the way you look at things… you pay more attention to details.
Still, I don’t do much black and white on the beach. When you are dealing with sunsets, the color is just too good to brush away in most cases. Still, sometimes it just works.
Tampa Bat Mitzvah | Schaarai Zedek
Earlier this year I was honored to photograph the Bat Mitzvah of Alexa at Schaari Zedek Temple with the party that night at the Hilton Downtown. Alexa was a fantastic subject… we had done a portrait session a few months earlier and created a custom signature board for the party entrance. I’ll admit, I was a little apprehensive when she said she wanted it so that everyone could write directly on the print. Usually, you create a border for people to write on. But once it was setup I really liked it. It’s a cool idea that I offer to all my clients now! (scroll down and you’ll see it in the album)
Alexa may have given me the best answer I’ve ever received do the question, “Do you have any hobbies?”
Her answer:
“Sleeping.”
That’s my kind of hobby. :)
Below are the custom album pages I created for the family. My big logo doesn’t appear on the actual pages, it’s just here to keep people from stealing my images and claiming them as their own. Yes, it happens all the time.
Cellphones at a Wedding
Recently, there has been a blog post making the rounds about people using cellphones at weddings. It’s no secret that wedding photographers are not big fans of everyone trying to take pictures with their phone at the wedding instead of experiencing the wedding and being “in the moment.”
However, there are times when having cellphones at your wedding can be a cool thing: :)
