Sirata Resort St. Petersburg Wedding
I recently was contacted by a bride who is having her wedding at The Sirata in St. Petersburg. When I mentioned that I had photographed a wedding there before, she asked if I had any images I could show her. I thought, “Hey, that’s a good excuse to write a post about weddings at The Sirata. :)
The last time I was there was back in 2011. Unfortunately, it started raining immediately after the ceremony so I wasn’t able to spend as much time on the sand with my couple as I usually do. Fortunately, there was a break in the storm later and we were able to sneak out for a very dramatic image.
Here’s a few favorites from the day:
Christ The King Wedding – Scott and Jessica
Yesterday I photographed a wedding at Christ The King Catholic Church on Dale Mabry in Tampa. Scott and Jessica looked fantastic and everyone had a great time.
I normally put a “sneak peek” on Facebook the day after the wedding but I’ve started posting those images here on my blog instead because Facebook uses a compression algorythim that really screws up an image. It drives me nuts. I’ll probably post this image there as well but I want to put it here so there is at least a place where you can see it without all the… (hmmm… what’s the technical term) “crap” that Facebook does to images. :)
Grand Plaza Hotel Wedding in St. Petersburg
Hillary and Kyle were married at The Grand Plaza Hotel in St. Petersburg a couple of weeks ago. There’s a little bit of history here…
A couple of years ago, I was diagnosed with tonsil cancer (I know, you’ve never met anyone with tonsil cancer before… me neither.) I was lucky because tonsil cancer is very treatable. The treatment is hell but the prognosis is great. I’m cancer free now and in better heath than I was before. They don’t even remove your tonsils!
One day while sitting in chemotherapy, I struck up a conversation with a man sitting next to me. If you know me, this is no surprise as I talk to everyone, all the time. I had no idea at the time that two years later I would be photographing his daughter getting married. It was really special for me to be able to photograph him dancing with his daughter at the reception. I always build a relationship with my clients but this time it was a little more personal.
So, here’s a few of my favorites from the day. Enjoy!
