I used to love my “Booray Perry Photography” Facebook page. I posted pictures there all the time and had discussions about wedding photography. Then, Facebook decided they wanted to make more money.
I get it. They are in the business of making money. But they now expect us business owners to pay if we want our posts to actually show up on the pages of people who have “liked” our business pages. So, you “like” a page because you want to follow it and receive posts…. but Facebook won’t show you the posts unless the page owner is willing to pay. And it’s not like they charge a flat-fee, no, they charge for every post you make. And even though many of the people who “like” your page may not be legit or viable clients, you still have to pay to reach them, even if you don’t want to.
Here’s a great video that explains why it’s an awful system:
So, I don’t post to my business Facebook page much anymore because I’m not going to pay to have my posts reach a bunch of “like” clickers in Bangladesh.
But I still miss posting pictures. :)
So, I’m going to try and start posting “Random Images” here. I’ll post a link on my Facbook page and the business page (for all the good it does) and hopefully people will start to come here to see pictures and read posts. But I doubt it. People love Facebook but I think that most people have no idea that “liking” a page means nothing if the page isn’t willing to pay for every post.
So, here’s a random image for today!
