Professional Tampa Headshots
I recently took a break from moving into my new house to shoot some professional Tampa headshots on my birthday. This job was especially fun because they needed a couple of different types of photography. I really enjoy it when a company takes the extra step of having two different shots of each person.
First up was the standard headshot on a white background. I brought in everything I needed and set up in the waiting area. I can do these at my studio as well but many people find it more convenient to have me come to the office and do everyone there so it doesn’t take people away from their job for too long.
Next, I photographed each person in what we call an “environmental” style. The idea is to bring a more modern, relaxed vibe to the portrait. I love doing these because of the challenges of finding good locations no matter where I am.
It rare that I get to do both at one location. Most of the time, people want one or the other. I spent the morning bouncing back and forth between the portable studio setup and the halls and offices in the building that I used for the environmental headshots.
It was a lot of fun and a great way to spend my birthday!
Island Way Grill Wedding | Jeff and Monica
I headed down the the Hilton on Clearwater Beach a few Saturdays ago to photograph a beach wedding. Perfect Florida Beach Wedding was providing the decor on the beach and setting up the reception at The Island Way Grill.
I headed up to the Bride’s room so I could get some “getting ready” pictures. Monica opened the door. I’m not the best in the world when it comes to names but I rarely forget someone I’ve photographed and Monica looked so familiar. “I’m Booray” I said. “Yes, I know,” she said, “You shot our engagement session.”
Ooops.
In my own defense, I don’t usually forget someone after I shoot their engagement session but Jeff and Monica were unique. They had booked a destination wedding with Perfect Florida Beach Wedding but had contacted me directly to book an engagement session a year ago. Since they booked their wedding through Perfect Florida, Bobbi had been handling all their arrangements. So, when I showed up to shoot the wedding, I didn’t realize that it was the same couple I had photographed a year ago. We hadn’t spoken since then…. Bobbi had been their contact. With destination weddings, you rarely meet the couple in person before the wedding day since they live in another state.
The weather was great and the wedding was great too. The reception was held at Island Way Grill which is on the causeway that leads to Clearwater Beach. They have several rooms for parties as well as a wonderful outside space and the price is very reasonable. It’s a great spot for small, beach weddings (or any kind, really).
Here are a just a few of the 259 pictures that Jeff and Monica received from the 4 hours I was with them…
Clearwater Beach Wedding | Sand Key
Last week I photographed Rich and Julie’s wedding at Sand Key Park on Clearwater Beach. Rich and Julie are locals. I photograph locals all the time but it’s usually a big, church wedding. If I had to guess I would say only about 10% of my beach weddings are for people who live within a half-hour of the beach.
The reason I wanted to blog about the wedding is because Rich wore a hat. I love hats. hats are just cool and a hat at a wedding? Doubly-cool.
The wedding was great, the couple were wonderful and it was a lot of fun photographing them.
Must have been the hat.
