Marty and Lauren | Wedding at Cross Creek Ranch
Earlier this year I had the pleasure of photographing Marty and Lauren’s wedding at Cross Creek Ranch. ( I posted some of the wedding images here and engagement images here. )
Start to finish it was just a fantastic experience. Lauren and Marty are fantastic, both are teachers and it’s inspiring to see these young, smart people dedicating their lives to education.
Cross Creek Ranch is one of my favorite venues. They do such a great job, everything runs smoothly and the photo opportunities are endless. The food is great, too, although I was disappointed to discover there weren’t any McDonalds French Fries at the wedding since I love McDonalds Fries and Lauren’s Dad is president of the company that owns all the McDonalds in Tampa Bay. You can keep your Filet Mignon, all I need is some fries and I’m good! :) (If I were ever trapped in my car during a storm I could live off the McDonalds fries that have fallen between the seats. Seriously, I eat a lot of fries.)
We just finished the wedding album (my clients have as much input into their album design as they want. Lauren and Marty were very “hands-on”) and it looks great. They included a photo booth page in the album and if you look at the bottom right picture you might notice my wife’s favorite photographer. It’s not the first time someone has included me in their album but it’s always a treat.
So, here’s the album pages. The first image is the wrap-around cover and the rest are double-page spreads. My albums open flat with no “gutter” so you get big, 12×24 inch prints!
I apologize for the big “Booray Perry” Logo on every page. Those logo’s aren’t in the album. Unfortunately, I have to put a watermark on anything I post on online ever since I discovered a vendor who had grabbed an entire wedding album from my blog, posted it to their website and claimed it as their own. They even made up a little story about the couple, complete with fake names!

Sirik and Charlotte Beach Wedding | Sirata Beach Resort
Yesterday I had the privilege of photographing Sirik and Charlotte’s wedding at The Sirata Beach Resort in St. Petersburg. I’ve photographed a lot of weddings including my share of weddings with men in kilts but I think this is the first time I ever had a bagpipe player! Charlotte and Sirik were relaxed and happy, the family and friends all seemed to be having a great time. It’s not a bad life spending every weekend surrounded by happiness and love! A lot of people had traveled from far away (California! The U.K.!)
It started out very hot, then a storm front rolled in and gave us shade just in time for the group pictures. It was really starting to look bad by the time we started on the portraits but we never got wet!
I always tell my wedding couples to remind their guests not to stand up and walk around during the ceremony. People are pretty relaxed on the beach and I’ve had too many times where someone stands up and blocks me during an important moment (like the first kiss.) I’ve written about it before… Anyway, when I arrived, Sirik handed me a program and I was quite surprised when I looked at the back page: That’s the second time I’ve been included in the wedding program (Here’s the first) and the first time I’ve ever been a cartoon! (“Don’t forget your candy” refers to the candy table they had setup.)
Sirata Beach Resort Wedding Quick Pic
Yesterday I was at The Sirata Beach Resort for the wedding of Ashley and Keaton. I’ve shot there many times before but this was my first time under the new “Coconut Pavilion,” which is a tent pavilion they recently added.
Ever so often, I get one of those brides who is absolutely gorgeous and doesn’t seem to realize it. That was Ashley. Here’s a quick pic from her wedding portraits:
